The political action committee with one mission: defend Missouri's Model of Conservation
WHY WE'RE CRITICALLY NEEDED TODAY
The Missouri Model of Conservation holds that Missouri's Fish, Forests and Wildlife belong to the CITIZENS of Missouri. NOT Landowners, NOT Government, NOT Bureaucrats.
The NON-POLITICAL structure of Missouri Conservation renders it DEFENSELESS to political attacks and legislative manipulation.
Each year, more legislators and political leaders do not understand Missouri's gold standard of conservation - introducing bills and actions aimed at taking funding and control away from conservation and using it for political gain.
IF MISSOURIANS LIKE YOU AND ME DO NOT STAND UP against these political attacks to hunting and conservation, we will see Missouri Conservation LOSE its resources, funding and INDEPENDENCE to protect our fish, forests and wildlife, for ALL citizens - urban and rural, FOREVER.
HOW WILL WE STOP THE RELENTLESS ATTACKS
WE EDUCATE. We use a network of former Conservation Commissioners and Pro-Conservation Leaders to reach into the political process.
WE NOMINATE. We study upcoming political leaders and their positions on the importance of Missouri Conservation, appointing conservation leaders to contact them, showing benefits of conservation to Missouri citizens.
WE BUILD A WAR CHEST. A million dollars standing at the ready to dissuade politicians from putting forward motions or bills that attach Missouri Conservation.

Missouri’s fish forests and wildlife belong to all of the citizens of Missouri, without regard to land ownership or the authority of state, county or local governments. On this principle, the citizens of Missouri voted to amend the state’s constitution in 1936, establishing the Missouri Model of Conservation.

Missouri Amendment #4 established our four-member Conservation Commission with the responsibility and authority to manage fish, forests and wildlife using the best available science without the influence of politics and individual interests.

Years later, voters again supported Missouri Conservation establishing a one-eighth percent state sales tax as the dedicated source of funding to operate the Commission and the Department of Conservation. These actions are nationally recognized as bold, visionary steps forward, and have since become known as the Missouri Model of Conservation.

But while most citizens, governors, and legislators have supported the Missouri Model, others have sought to eliminate it, change it, bring it under political control, or to meddle with its funding. Many times these battles for control have only been won by the narrowest of margins.

Therefore, with the help of other like-minded citizens, we've founded the Alliance for Missouri Conservation to defend the Missouri Model of Conservation and all it represents. This political action committee will work to inform, consult, and influence political leaders with the intended purpose of preserving the Missouri Model of Conservation for the benefit of generations to come.

Please take a few minutes to read further and I hope you will join me in this important work.
